After working hard for the last year to get our software set up the way I wanted it, all our Dirty Butter websites are now what is called "responsive". That means all our websites now should work on mobile devices of all kinds, as well as desktop and laptop computers.

This involves coding in such a way that the page doesn't just get smaller when the screen gets smaller. Instead, the look of the page changes entirely. Sections that are side by side on a big screen end up stacked one on top of another on a small screen. This all happens automatically.

We use CubeCart software for our stores. It is now Open Source software, so anyone can use it without cost. There is certainly a learning curve in customizing the pages, but the results are well worth it. And now, the latest version of CubeCart uses an open source storefront skin based on Foundation. Upgrading to version 6 of CubeCart now provides the means for our Dirty Butter Plush Animal Shoppe to work well on any size phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.
